Inaugural Ceremony of Dosti Peshawar Women Literature Festival, 2nd Edition

The 2nd DPWLF took place on October 14, 2024, at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, celebrating women's contributions to literature and the arts through speeches, discussions, and a book launch.

October 14, 2024, 2nd Edition-Dosti Peshawar Women Literature Festival 2024 (DPWLF) was officially launched today at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, bringing together women writers, poets, artists, and intellectuals. Organized by the Dosti Welfare Organization in collaboration with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University and National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), the event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Safia Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU). This was followed by a documentary, showcasing the journey of the Dosti Peshawar Women Literature Festival, illustrating its growth and the impact it has made over the years.

Dr. Syed Hanif Rasool, Co-founder, Dosti Peshawar Literature Festival (DPLF) then shared the history of the Dosti Peshawar Literature Festival, reflecting on its origins and the vision behind its inception.

The keynote address was delivered by Bushra Farrukh, who inspired attendees with her insights on the role of literature in societal change. This was followed by a panel discussion on “Adab aur Aaghi” (Literature and Awareness), which featured notable speakers discussing the importance of literature in raising social consciousness.

Speaking at the launch of the 2nd DPWLF the Chief Guest Riaz Khan Mehsud, Commissioner Division Peshawar (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), expressed his thoughts. The celebration continued with an author talk and a poetry circle, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and connection.

Tayyiba Aziz, the Guest of Honor, delivered a thought-provoking speech, which was followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Hamida, Chief Organizer of the Dosti Peshawar Women Literature Festival.
The event concluded with a book launch, highlighting the contributions of authors, followed by the distribution of shields to honored guests and certificates to the dedicated volunteers who made the event possible.

The 2nd Women Literature Festival continues to serve as a unique and vital platform for empowering women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, offering them a space to explore, create, and inspire through literature and the arts.
