Meet Turpekay, who is determined to break the vicious circle of poverty and under-development by raising egg-laying chickens.

Global Education Campaign is empowering women with its sister concern, Dosti Welfare Organization in Pakistan, by providing chickens and training to profit from it. Chickens place little demand on women’s time as these birds excel in scavenging for their food, escaping predators. This autonomy allows women to have adequate time for other relevant context-specific responsibilities they might have. Raising chicken may become a profitable business opportunity for underprivileged women. They can invest extra income in food diversity for the family and greater access to health, hygiene, and access to education for children.
